Ship your prototype to Azure

Take the request tracker from your browser to an Azure Static Web Apps deployment. Use AI for a small delivery checklist while you verify the repository, build settings, and published result.

What you’ll be able to do

  • Convert a prototype into a simple deployable repository.
  • Use AI to produce a reviewable deployment checklist.
  • Verify an update and document current product limitations.
Before you beginFinish the prompt-to-prototype guide, have an Azure subscription and a GitHub account, and permission to create Static Web Apps. Your lab site may be public, so use only fictional data and content.

Get the idea

Keep the first release small

A static HTML prototype can be deployed without inventing a backend. Keep its limitations visible. Public hosting does not add persistence or authentication to a page.

Ask for a checklist, not unexplained commands

Have the assistant describe repository layout, build configuration, and verification steps. Cross-check instructions with the current official Azure quickstart. Portal labels and tooling change over time.

Verify the published application

A successful workflow and a valid URL are necessary, but also test the primary interaction. Check that labels, layout, and the temporary-data notice survived deployment.

Try it yourself

  1. Put the request-tracker example in a disposable repository as index.html. Confirm the repository has no credentials or confidential data.
  2. Use the prompt below to create a delivery checklist. Compare every Azure-specific step with the linked official quickstart.
  3. Create a Static Web App connected to the repository. Choose the plan intentionally and use build settings appropriate for plain HTML.
  4. After deployment succeeds, open the assigned URL and test adding a fictional request on both a narrow and wide screen. Reload and confirm no durable storage is claimed.
  5. Change one visible sentence, commit, and verify the updated page after the next successful deployment. Document the current boundaries: prototype only, temporary data, no user authorization.

Example · commands or prompt

Create a deployment checklist for this single-file HTML prototype
on Azure Static Web Apps with GitHub.
Explain repository structure, branch selection, build locations,
verification, rollback options, and cleanup.
Do not add a backend or claim the application stores requests.
Identify settings I must verify against current Microsoft documentation.
Separate the steps I execute from assumptions I must confirm.
Check your resultThe deployed page behaves like the reviewed local prototype, and your notes connect the published release to the source commit.

Finish the lab

Remove the lab Static Web App and its workflow or disposable repository when no longer needed. Check plan terms before creation and inspect any additional Azure resources afterward.

Quick knowledge check

Does deploying a static prototype automatically create secure user accounts?

Reveal the explanation

No. Deployment publishes the application. Authentication, authorization, and durable user data must be designed and implemented separately.

Take this with you

AI can assist delivery, but you remain responsible for the configuration and verification.
